10 signs about AI

10 Signs You've Outsourced Your Personality To AI

June 19, 20264 min read

Introduction:

Let's start with a disclaimer.

I love AI.

I use it every day.

It helps me brainstorm, research, organise ideas, and create content faster.

In fact, there's a fair chance AI helped me shape parts of this blog.

But there's a difference between using AI as a tool and handing over the keys to your entire personality.

And lately?

I'm seeing more and more content that feels like it was written by the same robot for the same robot audience.

The words are technically correct.

The grammar is perfect.

The formatting is immaculate.

And yet...

Something feels missing.

The human.

So if you've been wondering whether AI is helping your content or quietly replacing your personality, here are ten signs to watch out for.

Business

1. Every Post Sounds Like a TED Talk

You used to sound like you.

Now every post sounds like a keynote speaker preparing to change the world.

Everything is:

"Let's dive into..."
"Unlock your potential..."
"Transform your journey..."

Meanwhile, your actual friends are wondering who kidnapped you.

2. You've Stopped Sharing Real Stories

Real life is messy.

AI prefers neat.

If every post has become polished, inspirational and perfectly structured, but you've stopped sharing real experiences, something has gone wrong.

People connect with stories.

Not perfection.

3. You Use Words You'd Never Say Out Loud

Be honest.

Have you ever published a post and thought:

"I would never actually say that."

Words like:

  • leverage

  • amplify

  • optimise

  • synergise

  • transformative

If it sounds like a corporate annual report, your audience can tell.

4. Your Posts Are Technically Excellent and Completely Forgettable

This is the biggest warning sign.

Nothing is wrong with the content.

But nothing stands out either.

It's helpful.

It's polished.

It's safe.

It's vanilla.

And vanilla is rarely memorable.

5. You've Lost Your Opinions

AI is brilliant at balance.

Humans are brilliant at perspective.

If every post now sounds neutral, careful, and determined not to upset anyone, you've probably stopped sharing what you actually think.

And that's where your personality lives.

6. Your Audience Could Swap You With Someone Else and Not Notice

Ouch.

But important.

If someone removed your name from your content, would people know it was yours?

Or could it belong to any coach, consultant, network marketer, business owner or social media expert on the internet?

Strong personal brands are recognisable.

Even without the logo.

7. You're Posting More but Connecting Less

The irony of AI.

It can help you create more content than ever before.

But if that content lacks your voice, your experiences and your perspective, connection suffers.

Content volume is not the same thing as audience connection.

8. You Sound Like LinkedIn Even When You're On Facebook

You know the type.

Everything is:

"Here's what this taught me about leadership."

"Three lessons from my morning coffee."

"My thoughts on resilience."

Please.

Sometimes a coffee is just a coffee.

Not a life-changing business lesson.

9. You've Stopped Being Funny

One of the first casualties of badly used AI is humour.

Your little observations.

Your sarcasm.

Your quirks.

The things that make people smile and think:

"Yep. That's so them."

Those things matter.

More than you realise.

10. People Engage Less But You Keep Creating More

This is the ultimate test.

If your content output has doubled but engagement, conversations and enquiries haven't...

The problem may not be the algorithm.

It may be that you've accidentally replaced authenticity with efficiency.

So Should You Stop Using AI?

Absolutely not.

That would be like refusing to use a calculator because you still need to understand maths.

AI is an incredible assistant.

But it should be:

  • supporting your ideas

  • enhancing your voice

  • speeding up your workflow

Not becoming your personality.

The best content in 2026 will not come from people who reject AI.

It will come from people who combine AI efficiency with human authenticity.

Final Thought

The goal isn't to sound like ChatGPT.

The goal is to sound like you on your best day.

Using AI should make your personality clearer.

Not replace it.

Because in a world where everyone has access to the same tools, your personality is becoming one of the few competitive advantages left.

And that is something no AI can replicate.

At least not yet. 😉🔥
